Rainbow Studios, a division of THQ, inc., creates video games & animated entertainment.

Devised & executed a rapid turnaround of money-losing division, reaching better than break-even within 6 months. Built division to 25 staff & revenues of ~$2.5M. Sole responsibility for divisional sales & marketing, including client acquisition, management & retention. Developed strategic relationships with Hasbro Toys and Sony Family Entertainment, delivering ~$3.5M in revenue over 3 years. Managed projects for brands as diverse as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, NERF, Tonka & Starship Troopers.

Drove aggressive technology development to improve production efficiency. Devised new business model for episodic TV production that improved margins through novel digital asset repurposing. Built relationships with key hardware and software vendors resulting in cost savings of 5-50% on critical purchases.

Worked with other members of the executive team to retain world-class turnaround CEO, resulting in the eventual sale of the company to THQ, inc for ~$55M in 2001.

Lightscape was a VC-funded startup developing 3D visualization software for design professionals.

Managed & launched major new product line. Created & executed product launch plan and all aspects of product marketing. Built strategic relationships with Autodesk, HP, SGI, Viewsonic and others. Recruited early resellers. Conducted national press tour delivering broad media coverage and an article on the front page of the business section of the San Jose Mercury News. Created the “Lightscape@work” marketing promotion for SIGGRAPH ‘95 tradeshow, a concept subsequently copied by multiple companies including AMD.
