Spent Saturday at BarCampRDU. It was good to catch up with some folks I haven’t seen in a while.
It seemed to me that attendance was a little light, and a couple of folks pointed out that no email reminders were sent out before the event, but the day was still fun.
I did two sessions: “10 Ways to Improve Sales” and the seemingly well received “10 Ways to Accelerate Failure in a Startup”, an uncomfortably factually-based look at mistakes I’ve seen and made… I got to present the latter with the fabulous Jim Meyer of LinkedIn. I met Jim at BarCampRDU 2007 when it turned out we had some overlap in our earlier careers.
Jim also did an excellent session on values and how they can play in to work and personal life. He’s done a much better job of figuring that out than me at this point.
I’ll be putting both presentations online shortly. Great to see everyone.
